MIDLAND, TX – March 31, 2026 — EnviroKlean, a specialty chemical and water treatment technology innovator, is pleased to announce a major leap forward in sustainable produced water management: The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a Notice of Allowance for the company’s foundational patent filing covering its Zero Solids® technology.
This affirmative confirmation from the USPTO determined that the initial Zero Solids claims filed are patentable, marking a significant milestone in the development of EnviroKlean’s intellectual property portfolio.
The New Standard for Produced Water Recycling
Zero Solids technology, in combination with EnviroKlean’s proprietary EK One™ carbon-based chemistry platform, is commercially marketed as the Zero Solids Recycle® (ZSR®) system, a solids-free recycling system that solves a critical industry challenge: avoiding the need to generate waste solids to remove harmful contaminants when recycling produced water for reuse.
Zero Solids closed-loop technology enables produced water to be fully recycled without generating waste solids, improving profitability and environmental sustainability for energy producers and midstream water operators. Unlike traditional DAF or “floc and float” recycling methods, Zero Solids sets the new standard for produced water recycling by eliminating the need to create, remove, haul-off, and dispose of costly waste solids.
“Validating this breakthrough with a Notice of Allowance is a pivotal milestone for our team and this company,” said Robert Rolfe, CEO of EnviroKlean. “With this foundation in place, we have filed additional patent applications to broaden and deepen protection across the full scope of the Zero Solids technology. We remain focused on protecting every facet of our proprietary chemistry and technology as we scale to meet accelerating market demand for Zero Solids Recycle (ZSR) systems.”
Strategic Intellectual Property Expansion
To further strengthen its intellectual property portfolio, the company is pursuing additional Zero Solids patent filings that cover related systems, methods and compositions. “I am incredibly proud of our team’s dedication over the past few years perfecting this technology,” added John Williams, President of EnviroKlean. “Seeing it recognized by the USPTO as both novel and worthy of patent protection is an honor that motivates each member of our team to continue our deep commitment to innovation.”
